These tours have been with The Exchange, Freedom’s Boombox, The Invisibles, and as a solo artist. He also works as a tour manager through American Voices as a liaison between touring AMA artists and Embassies.

Richie’s critically acclaimed solo all-vocal music has won numerous awards, including Best Original Song and Best Hip Hop Song (CARA Awards).

Richie has won best beatboxer (Vocal Asia), best arrangement (MHVJ), and best score for the short film Sacrifice from HIMPFF, among dozens of other awards across the music industry. Richie has also co-founded the Fusion Music Academy in Melbourne, Australia.

He studied architecture and psychology and pursued music as a hobby. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found a furniture company, a music app, a digital design company, and several concert series. After dozens of projects, Richie began an intense focus on music production as a means to reach the most people. His mission to encourage people to reach their highest potential is disguised as interactive beatboxing performances. Meticulously tailoring his craft for over 15 years, Richie has become well-known as an entertainer, speaking through rhythm instead of words.

Song-A-Week Info

Nothing’s lonelier than a 1 person a cappella group, so please check on Richard Steighner who is building a following harmonizing and beatboxing with himself.

Clever songs about Student Loans or the Lost-Love of Climate Change are made with only his voice. It’s part of a project to write, record, produce, film, and release a song every week.

Richard’s solitary journey builds on his years of touring with a cappella bands The Exchange and Freedom’s Boombox. He’s a cultural ambassador with the US, and travels to teach vocal music and help other musicians build their careers. A cappella is the most human (and cheapest) way to make music, so it’s a natural fit for the accomplished beatboxer and Scorpio (Richard is both human and cheap).

Truth is, he has worked with and encountered amazing people and friends. Richard Steighner has journeyed to over 50 countries, collaborated with Flo Rida, Pentatonix, Ben Folds, Sara Bareilles, and toured with the Backstreet Boys. He’s won the Harmony Sweepstakes, Best Film Score, runners-up (twice) on The SingOff, and an ice-cream eating contest in the 90s. It’s been a long music journey, but Richard has plans to inspire and develop music with a cappella around the world.
