After an early flight and an early check in and a long nap, the second day of the tour started. I somehow find myself in a beautiful city with layers upon layers of culture and food and monuments and it feels a little surreal. Already the days are starting to blend together. An airplane and a hotel and a wifi password. So to miss the opportunity to differentiate the memories would be blasphemous.
And I’ll be damned if I pass up a chance to see Milan just to get an extra hour of sleep. I’ll sleep when I’m dead and plan on spending most of that time seeing the rest of the world anyways :). Yes, I will be a ghost and will haunt somewhere like the Ritz!
El Mercado de San Miguel was the highlight and I got a little drunk with Chris and Jamal on cheap tapas and wine (and beer and another beer). Lot’s of travel and not a lot of meals means I’m a cheap date on tour.
On stage tonight, the Real Madrid futbol game caused a huge traffic jam in the city and led to a steady stream of people getting to the venue just as we started. We took a little extra time today to get to the venue since we know the drill now and somehow still got ourselves plenty of time to kick it backstage. And hell yes, there is beer in the fridge today! Now we are talking!! Yesterday’s BYOB was fine for yesterday’s debut, but that’s not sustainable based on the ADBC (average daily beer consumption) by the group.
I got my dance moves down and even though the mic crapped out and we had a lil set-list change, the show went off pretty damn well! Now time for the after party and on to Barcelona!
Good night.
