Supposed to be a dry city right?
Ok, so let’s be honest here. I enjoy the drinky drink as much as the next guy. In fact, I’d say that’s a reasonable piece of the pie chart on the “Why do you do music for a living?” question. It works out really well too since music happens at night, and so does libation-having.
So when I tell people I’m going gigging in SLC, they give me the ole’ “Good luck finding a bar” routine. Truth is SLC gets down. I’m not speaking for the rest of Utah, but SLC is definitely not some fun-times-black-hole. I recommend it. Oh, also, there’s free wifi. On a topical note, I went with Plumbers of Rome to the Utah Arts Festival. We performed outside in a little round theater. Our routine is….well…..not normal. The balance in comedy is to reach and embrace, to separate and reunite. There is something sublime about drinking a beer in Utah. There is something funny about pop. There is something very serious about making people laugh. I love it!
