Cue the litany of cheese jokes. Come on, right? Five guys singing about cheese…in cheese colored vests? You know it’s all about that cheddar!
So they put us in a swanky hotel here in NYC…the kind of places where taking the little soaps could actually make you some money. You know, sell ’em back to a salon for store credit. Always hustling.
Ok maybe New York is wearing off on this mountain-grown Colorado boy. Chill Richie, chill.
The mission here: make a song thanking all of Kraft’s Facebook fans for liking their page. Record it. Make a music video. You have 2 days. Go.
So we sat in a circle and wrote and arranged the whole thing. Coffees and snacks (no cheese, though) were on a steady call into the room. After 10 hours I almost forgot we were in a cool spot near SoHo. But I think that’s what this city is built on…tourists looking at buildings, people working their asses off in the buildings.
Somehow we actually had a (vaguely) finished project, and the crew at Downtown Films got to work. The second day, we got dressed up and filmed a bunch of scenes where we read off fans’ names and ham it up on camera. Now I want a ham and cheese…
