It is very hot here, but I wouldn’t know it!
We’ve spent some serious time indoors as we prepare and perform for a full-day event. A performance the night before, as well, had us up and singing most every second we have been here! Always an interesting balance playing for a captive audience and an audience that is busy, so to speak. This happens a lot to me at corporate gigs where we are hired to essentially be background music. People are eating, auctioning, mingling, being served food, and essentially doing what they came to do…participate.
Some people don’t like this–I kind of enjoy the opportunity to just perform with my guys. It’s a bit like a rehearsal but we get a free stage, audience, and sometime we can eat/drink too! No complaints.
Overall, the show went really well. Did some cool stuff at the direction of Florian Städtler. Florian is the man! This guy set up some very cool things all around the world and has made a cappella a viable business venture across the world. Dude. Wow. I cannot wait to work with him more!
